Q: Why doesn't my old water heater work as well as it used to?
A: This is usually due to a sediment buildup in your tank. As water heaters grow older, they accumulate sediment and lime deposits. Ask Bonney to drain and flush your water heater annually to help reduce the sediment layer build-up. If these deposits are not removed periodically, the sediment creates a layer between the burner and the water of gas units and causes buildup on the elements of electric units. Sediment buildup greatly reduces the water heater's performance level. This can cause an increase in the amount of fuel required to deliver hot water, which can waste energy dollars.
